How our program aligns to the Australian Curriculum

Health and Physical Education (HPE) delivered across Queensland teaches students to develop the skills, understanding and willingness to positively influence the health and wellbeing of themselves and their communities.

In Australia, content studied in HPE is organised under two strands: Personal, social and community health and movement and physical activity. Both strands are interrelated. The StandUp education program aligns with the personal, social and community health strand, which focuses on the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to make healthy and safe choices.

Under this strand, content is organised into three sub strands. The table below demonstrates how the StandUp education program further aligns with the three sub strands of the Australian Curriculum.
